A few months after completing my recording of Dawn of Tao, the 17+minute piece of music for yoga, I found myself still totally in love with it. The desire to make a music video was a LOVE offering to the piece itself. (Ahhh, and the piece itself was a LOVE offering to my friend and collaborator, 100 year old master Yogi, Tao Porhcon-Lynch, to use in her yoga workshops, Vinyasanas, and in a film she was making about the history of yoga.)
I wanted the video to inspire a sense of freedom, of creative exploration; chocked full of psychedelic art and photos of my favorite places. I called my friend S.A. Baron who had worked with me on a documentary of my Starlight Orchestra. He dedicated himself to creating visuals that would capture the essence of my vision. We looked at many images, special effects and filters, trippy hippie art, and my personal photo collection. I was absolutely delighted with the finished video! I hope you will take a moment (or 17 of them!) to watch or listen to the video of Dawn of Tao, and let it take you on a journey. With either eyes open (seeing the visuals) or eyes closed (going inward), I would love to know about your journey!!
