I am loving this new piece of music! Originally I composed it for my friend Tao Porchon-Lynch to use in her film about yoga, yet the journey had a life of its own. The process of recording and interacting with the piece was the most joyful and deepening experience, and every session became a different kind of journey within. Embedded in the music is an invitation to go inward, find a peaceful place of inner oneness, connect with higher aspects, and journey onward. It is also a tether back to full consciousness. I recorded it in the healing energy of the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona at my dear friend Näthan “Saith” Gangadean’s recording studio. He and I co-produced it, I played all the many guitars, plus bass, piano & synth. Tom Rossi played percussion, kora and bansuri flute. The main version is a 17+ minute instrumental piece of “Music to Journey on,” and I also released a shorter version for radio play. Both versions stay at 74 BPM throughout, yet it builds in intensity adding layers and layers of sounds, culminating with “jam band” style guitar solos. I hope you enjoy this piece of music that is so special to me, and will let me know about your own journey!
