A major blizzard and snowstorm in Sedona, Az. postponed my first Groove Into Bliss: Healing Concert in February. When the new date was announced, half of the musicians weren’t available so I had to put together a whole new band. That has always been one of my strengths; finding and organizing amazing performers to express my different visions. This concert was an experimental and experiential event to perform the music from my album, Healing Music Volume 2, and illustrate to a live audience how the power of music can affect and transform our many moods. Since my album is in the “New Age” category, I produced a “New Age Band.” Louis Colliaianna, pianist extraordinaire, played the first set solo, and later joined my band on one of my songs. For my concert, I used the format of Still, Chill, Thrill; taking the audience on a musical journey through different moods, using each composition to create experiences for reflection, activation, and upliftment.
The band consisted of:
Me- guitar, Rachel Ekroth- keyboards & synth, Troy Perkins-bass, Adriel Zang- percussion, Renick Turley- sitar, Jesse Kalu- bamboo flute. Guest appearances were made by Robin Bryer on acoustic guitar and Avery Roberts on didjeridoo. I ended the show joined by my friend and collaborator Näthan “Saith” Gangadean, and sang a song we wrote together called “Shine Tonight.” The concert ended with everyone on their feet dancing and singing along; truly a THRILL moment.
