ART and MUSIC; two mediums with the power to inspire and uplift. When Shey (Shey Khandro) and I first met , she was working on a very special painting; a traditional medicine Buddha with a more modern color palette. Says Shey, “The Buddha is recognized around the globe as a symbol of Peace and Compassion. A rich and vibrant blue, the Medicine Buddha is revered for his qualities of healing. I chose this image to remind us of our inherent well being, the wellness present within and around us.”As with all of her transformational art and jewelry, each piece (peace!) is imbued with an intention or a prayer; to support the healing of ourselves, our planet and all living beings
At the same time, I was composing and recording the last few tracks on my album, Healing Music Volume 2; music designed for inner peace, meditation and personal transformation. There were days in Shey’s art studio where I set up my equipment and worked on the music while she painted. Shey’s painting “Our Time is Now” became infused with the peaceful and healing energy of my music, and my album was being infused with the vibrations of Shey’s colors, her intentions and prayers. It was an incredibly high-vibe and bonding experience, and both of our projects benefitted from the collaboration.I adore the album cover that Shey later designed with details from this painting; it just jumps off the page and makes my heart sing! THIS MONTH, in celebration of International Day of Peace (a U.N. recognized holiday on every September 21, ) the Goldenstein Gallery is doing a special promotion of Shey’s painting “Our Time is Now,” and offering my now-award-winning album “Healing Music Volume 2” as a special gift.

Thanks to Linda Goldenstein, Kayla Clemens and Rachel Tucker for taking such good care of this project, and thank you to Shey for such a meaningful and joyous exchange.
