Everybody loves Tao! What’s not to love about our dear, 100 year old, inspiring compelling, positive message yoga teacher, Tao Porchon-Lynch! Her books, her poetry, her meditations, her Savasanas, her words of encouragement, her fascinating life!
Her workshops at the Sedona Yoga Festival were sold out and were standing room only, and I had the privilege of providing the music for her classes! My challenge was to play softly enough that the audience could hear her softly spoken words, but loud enough to set atmosphere in the room and create the rhythm for everyone to follow.
My highlight was getting to perform the song I wrote for Tao’s 100th birthday, called the Tao Tao Tango, as a homage to Tao’s current ballroom dancing career. Tao and I have done many projects together over the years, including an album of poetry, music and meditations called “Reflections: The Yogic Journey of Life.” Another piece of ours, “Om Shanti Shalom” has been nominated the Peace Song Awards in the category of Best Spoken Word, which will be held in September of 2019.
I know we all wish Tao continued vitality in her amazing and inspiring life!
